~*Something Else I Made*~

Hello Dear Friends!  Did you have a GREAT weekend?  I sure hope you did!  We had a nice one... another FULL one!  I did manage to finish a few more things between all the family fun!

I cannot take credit for the originality of this re~purposed ditty.  I have seen several made... and, well, I just thought they were all super cool!  I had the ironing board already... so why not make one up?  *smile*

Here is my re~purposed, ironing board bar...
The bucket was another 'found' item.  It has been well used, but is solid.  It can hold a bag of ice on the bar.
I painted the board with some white, milk paint.  It is wonderful stuff... and left an awesome chippiness!

There were 3 spoons flattened & bent... then added to the side to hold towels, an apron, or some utensils.  They are silver plated... and have sweet designs on 'em....

Also finished is another scrappy penny rug... that looks GREAT on the bar!

Both of these items were taken to our booth at ReRun Consignments and Mall in Council Grove, KS yesterday.  This weekend is the big Washunga Days festival there.  It surely will be crowded and loads of fun!

Now... on to the next project!

Have a beautiful day with warm smiles...

~*And Two Weeks Later...*~

She posts again!

Hello Dear Friends!  Here is what keeps me away from my computer...

Ball and more ball!  Trinity has been doing GREAT this year!  You know I am one PROUD Momma!
Tony and Trinity rode in the Americus Day Parade last weekend.  Here they are getting ready...

During Americus Days... we watched the Lawn Mower Races.  Hmmmm... interesting, but not really exciting!  *smiles*
We have been loving Summer... and our puppies... Brownie enjoys going on long walks with us.
I've been hitting the garage sales, auctions, and thrift shops for junk to re~do.  I found this awesome doll house yesterday!

We have been working hard keeping our booth at ReRuns stocked and inviting...

That means lots of re~do projects!  Like this old frame... I filled it with a chalkboard...
Between re~do projects, I get in some fiber fun!  I made this primitive, penny rug from scraps... and was sure to include a penny inside for Good Luck!
Another re~do piece!  This piece was missing the dresser... but is super~dooper darling now!
How about a primitive~looking liquor cabinet made from an old record player?
With a pop of RED inside!
This one I'm keeping!  This frame (no picture, just the frame) belonged to my Grandma Betty & Grandpa Bill.  My Mom gave it to me recently.  I added the chalkboard to it & hung it in our kitchen.  I LOVE it!  Hanging to the right of it is an iron match holder filled with chalk.  Sweet!

And, with working late nights in the garage with the light as bright as I can get it... well, it seems to attack some visitors to our back door!  These guys won't hurt anyone... but they sure our creepy!  YUCK!
I hope you are enjoying Summer!  I hope you are filling in your days as full as you can with all kinds of goodness!

Wishing you warm smiles...

Betty

~*I'm HERE*~

Hello Dear Friends!  Oh gosh... time goes by so fast!  I just know there are some ~*Friday Finishes*~ out there that I'm missing!  I know I have seen some beauties on Facebook that I wanted to share here on my blog.  But... my mind is skipping gears!  I'm so sorry Stitches!  I honestly meant to get on my computer and save them & share them... but then ~ besides skipping gears ~ my mind has shorted out & malfunctioned.  I have my phone with me always and love to browse Facebook with it... but I haven't been on the actual computer much at all.  That needs to change!  I HAVE to get back in the swing of things!  I'm going to try.

Stitches, please accept my sincere apology for missing any shares.  If the finishes are emailed to me, I file them in a folder and can catch them better... I see them on Facebook, but am not organized enough.  So, if you can, email them to me please.

What have I been up to?  Well... Summer Vacation has begun and I have been trying to keep the kiddo busy.  I hate that... "I'm bored, Mom." statement!  Don't you?  We have been going on walks and bicycle rides... and visiting lots of garage sales... getting to piano lessons & ball practice... and lots of playdates.

My husband and younger stepSon are getting into Vintage Dirt Bike Racing.  Tony went to his first race a couple months back... I had posted about that, I think.  He and Jamie both went this past weekend.  They raced on Saturday and camped out... then raced again on Sunday.  Trinity and I caught up with them on the second day to watch... and take some pictures...

 Tony giving Jamie some pointers.

Tony is in the front on his Combat Wombat bike... Jamie is behind him on Tony's CR125.  These bikes are both nearly 40 years old.  Now, after last weekend, Jamie is shopping for his own bike.

Trinity doesn't race... YET.  He has the fever for it though... and has been practicing at home.  He enjoyed watching all the races on Sunday.

I, of course, don't race.  One day I may have a bike that I can ride, but not race.  Tony really wants me to ride with him around home and on some local trails.  For now though... I have been getting some stitches done between all the other activities that keep me busy.  Here is the start of a new sampler...
Wishing you all warm smiles... and a busy, Happy start to your Summer...

Before I sign off on this post... my thoughts and prayers go out for those affected by the recent storms.  I am very worried about my family & friends in OK as I have not heard from them this evening.  I have been watching Facebook hoping to catch a note.  I pray they are all safe!!

We had a Tornado Warning here... and apparently there was one touch the ground within a few miles of us.  Thankfully it wasn't a big one.  I have heard of one house roof and one barn damaged, but no one was hurt.

This is the season... and we all need to stay aware and ahead of the storms.

Wishing you all safety and warm smiles... and a big CONGRATS to Stephanie!!!

~*A GIVEAWAY!... and more!*~

Hello Dear Friends!  Yes, I'm hosting a GIVEAWAY... well, two of them actually!

Here are the details!

As a small token of my GREAT THANKS TO YOU for following my blog ~ over 1000 of you! ~ I made a little something to give to one of you...

 I did a little needlepunch... a'top a little box.  (5 1/2 x 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches).  It isn't a BIG prize... but I do have a BIG heart for all of you!  Thank you!!
The top is adorned with my old Tom (actually inspired by our own Tommy boy purr baby... who is our BIGGEST cat... at about 18 pounds!).  I worked the needlepunch with cotton threads on weaver's cloth... trimmed with wool yarn and linen thread.  The box is a paper mache' box painted black... and decoupaged with old sheet music on the outside.
The box is empty right now... but the winner shouldn't be surprised to find it filled with a few store~bought tokens of fun.  What will it be?  Oh... I don't know for sure just yet.  But, knowing me, if it doesn't TASTE yummy... it will at least SMELL yummy!

To enter for a chance to win... just leave a comment ON THIS POST ONLY!  I will draw a winner on Sunday evening (May 19th, 2013)... and announce it before I tuck myself in for the night.  Please be sure I can reach you via email or through your blog if you are the winner.

......

Now wait a minute... I said TWO GIVEAWAYS!  Yes, the other one is on my Facebook page.  You will have to visit there to see & enter for it.  I'm sorry... I don't want to leave anyone out... it is just that I want to give two items away for all my followers & Likers.

Please feel free to sign up for BOTH giveaways!

Before I end my post... here are some snaps from out & about our yard.  I LOVE the blessing we have around our yard all year... but in the Springtime I am overjoyed....

My 'concrete' kids wearing their Springtime hats.  I pick out hats for the changing seasons at the Goodwill store.
My new ~OLD~ wheelbarrow filled with a few annuals... surrounded by POPPIES!
These poppies just blow me away year after year!
Baby Zinnia seedlings emerging from soil.
My old washtub on the side of the studio/shop... and a simple little sign I scribbled up & slapped with paint.
Inside the washtub ~ my Fairy Garden.
Momma & Daddy bird moving into one of our birdhouses.
Our phlox in the front yard garden is bursting with blooms!

Wishing you all warm smiles...
