~*A Few Items Listed*~

Hello Dear Friends!

This is just a quick update... gotta run out of the house to take the kiddo to piano lessons.  (He is playing well, but would be SO MUCH BETTER IF HE WOULD PRACTICE!)  *SMILE*

Anyway... after the Customer Appreciation event this past Sunday... I have several Halloween items remaining.

It is near to the holiday... but a few have been listed...

On Ebay...

And these are in my Etsy Shoppe...

There are more to be added online... and will be very soon.  Also, I have had many ask about needlepunch patterns.  I'm still trying to find the time to figure out... how to figure out!... how to make the PDF patterns.  With any luck... I will have it all worked out soon.

Thanks for popping over to my Ebay auction and my Etsy Shoppe to take a closer look!

Wishing you all warm smiles...

Betty

~*Yesterday's Fun at Cabin Antiques*~

Hello Dear Friends!

Yesterday was Customer Appreciation Day at Cabin Antiques.  My Mom and I were so delighted to be a part of the fun.  I would like to thank the owner, Pam, for inviting us to be a part of the very special day!

Mom and I set up our wares on the back porch.
Sadly, the weather was cloudy, cold, and windy.  We were troupers though... and still enjoyed the festivities and VERY friendly folks.  We met new friends and were so happy to visit with old ones too!  Mom kept pretty bundled up in her quilt.  Of course, she didn't want her picture taken... but I'm an ornery kid sometimes!
Lots of punched pieces ~ both Oxford and Cameo needlepunch, hooked mats, and a little cross stitch...

Mom had a beautiful display and her SweetheartThreads are just adorable!  (So is she!)  She works very hard to bring personality to each one...
Later in the afternoon, my Mister showed up.  He decided to walk up the big hill behind the cabin.  She snapped this shot of my Dad, my SIL Robin, and I beginning his trek up the rock.
Here is where he was going...
This is the view of the lake from the top... So Pretty!

Before the day was over, Greg Fox (Pam's handsome brother) sang to us.  He is a fabulous!  I'm proud to have his CD in my collection now too!

Thank you again to Pam and her husband, Craig for inviting us.  We are truly honored to be a part of the fun!

Thank you too, to all the folks that visited.  It was great to see old friends and make new.

Later today... or tomorrow morning... I hope to list some wares online.  They may be listed on Ebay, in my Etsy shoppe, or on my other blog (that has yet to be used).  I will keep you posted here and on Facebook with more details.

Wishing you all warm smiles...

~*Tomorrow Tomorrow Tomorrow!!!*~

Hello Dear Friends!

Tomorrow is the day!  Customer Appreciation Day at the wonderful Cabin Antiques at Lake Wabaunsee!

I am so tickled that Pam, the owner, invited my Mom and I to be a part of this great day!  I am excited, nervous, thrilled, scared, and... well, a little stressed because I want everything to go over awesomely.

Mom and I will be set up on the back porch of the cabin... here...
The cabin is so amazing!  Pam and her husband built it themselves.  It is at the beautiful, Lake Wabaunsee... right across the street from where they live.  The views from the cabin are spectacular.  Lots of rolling flint hills.  Amazing really!  Oh, and I didn't even realize until the other day... more charm about the cabin, it doesn't have any electricity!  It is a real, honest to goodness, cabin!

Mom and I have both been working hard to create items to take.  Mom makes these darling, sweethearts.  They are crocheted and sculpted with such great detail.  Each one has its own, unique personality.  You can see more in her Etsy shoppe.  She works with great care and craftsmanship... just stunning and oh~so~CUTE!  She set her wares up at her house, in her dining room, this morning ~ to practice...
Oh... she is more prepared than I am!  I just finished my last item about 30 minutes ago... and put all my things ~ that would fit ~ in a thrown 'here and there' mess.  Needlepunch, Oxford punch, hooked mats, covered boxes, a little cross stitch... and all sorts of pieces.  What wouldn't fit is still setting in a couple of large totes...

My evening will be spent now trying to price everything.  I'm so thankful my Mom will be with me... she can help me empty my boxes and set things up after she has her table set... since she already knows how it will be displayed!

During the day, I will be demonstrating both needlepunch and Oxford punch.  At 3:30 though... we will all be enjoying Pam's brother, Greg, while he sings on the front porch.

If you are near... please visit us for the fun!  Check out the cabin, the antiques, snack on some treats, enjoy the music, and see our wares.  We would love to visit with you!

Wishing you all warm smiles...

Betty

~*The Old & The New*~

Hello Dear Friends!

I've still been keeping the needles popping here... trying hard to have lots of finishes for the three events I have scheduled... that are so quickly approaching.

More needlepunch dolls have been finished.  It has been a long time since I've made any of these.  Here are a couple of old ones I found packed away... along with three new ones just created...

 The older ones...
 And the newer ones...
It is interesting to me to see the changes.

My bald Santa... with needle-felted beard (I used kid Angora goat wool)...
 Gingerbread Boy...
 Happy Snowman...
The backs of the older ones... (2007 and 2009)
The backs of the newer ones...
All are sawdust filled and about 7 inches tall.

After the doll photo shoot... I had to snap a few pictures of my Chicks.  I wasn't able to get them all at one time... I have seven Ladies.  I told my Mister that they lay Golden Eggs.  *SMILE*  We get five to seven a day now.  Great job Ladies!

Wishing you all warm smiles...

~*Santa*~

Hello Dear Friends!

Thank you to all who offered suggestions and commented on my Santa from the previous post!  I finished him several days ago... and popped him in the frame.

Here he is...
I punched with mostly acrylic blend yarns (using my Amy Oxford #10 punch)... but I did rip some cotton fabrics about 1" thick to add here and there.  This gave a neat variation to the piece.  After the punching, I gave it a good coffee bath to relax the colors some.  Some suggested a mouth, but in my mind Santa's beard is much too full to see his lips.  I think he finished nice and primitive!

I'm still keeping the punches HOT... and punching and punching... for the three events I have quickly approaching.

Some needlepunch snowmen that will be finished into basket charms, pins, and/or maybe necklace charms on some ball chain...
More Oxford mats and Pumpkin rugs...
This Jolly Country Santa is a pattern from my dear friend Ginger of Prairie Moon Primitives...
I've got plans to dye some awesome wool yarns... purchased from a sweet and charming local boy that raises Alpacha goats.  This yarn is awesome for needlepunch!!!  I'll share more when I get the dye pots going...
My Sister~in~Law, Robin, was able to visit Ginger and Ann in Silver Dollar City a few weeks ago.  They all thought of me while they visited each other.  I so wish I could have been there too!  But they did think of me... Robin gave me this bundle of goodies from all of them.  How sweet!!!

A beautiful basket great for holding spools of yarn and other supplies for needlepunching, a yummy smelling soap, charming handmade coasters, hand carved (by Ann's Daddy!) sweetheart bears, a primitive battery operated candle, heart and bird charm, some great Oklahoma Rose rocks, and a handful of Ginger's delightfully~cheery patterns!  Thank you Ladies!!!  I love my gifts!!!

Wishing you all warm smiles... time for me to get away from the computer and back to crafting!

~*My New Tool!*~

Hello Dear Friends!

As you know, I have been working with a bunch of yarns as of late.  I've been growing my stash of yarn for several years.  Among my stash was this mess...
I don't know how it got this way... but it was a tangled mess for sure!

The other day, this wonderful yarn winder arrived in the mail!  I used one long ago in high school... and it was fun them... and is fun now!  And it works GREAT!
Here is that wool and many of my other wool yarns... all rolled and pretty!
Now... one headache is gone... and I'm still dealing with Mr. Santa... and still getting a headache from him.  My Mister said he looked good and to leave him as is... but I just can't help but think there is something 'off' about him.  The frame has been painted black.  It will be distressed and waxed before it is finished... but does Santa look alright?  His nose?  His cheek lines?  His beard?

I added in some strips of cotton fabrics with the acrylic yarns.  (This is punched with my Amy Oxford Rug Punch.)  It added some texture... but is there enough?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
Wishing you all warm smiles...
