Hello Dear Friends! Today was such a fun day! A crafty day! My dear buddy, Marianne, and I got to hang out together... shop, eat, stitch, and visit! We tried to stop by an antique store in Peabody... but unfortunately they were closed today. No trouble though... there were other fun places to get to. Our next stop was to Charlotte's Sew Natural in Newton. I quickly grabbed a few Civil War re~pro quarters for my stash... then on to Heart's Desire in Wichita. There, I picked up a skein of thread that I needed to complete a sampler model, some chenille trim, some linen scrap remnants, and a Blackbird Designs book, My Heart Is True... that I didn't yet have. Lunch was next at Panera Bread... and it was oh~so~yummy! Then we went back to Marianne's to share our current projects and stitch. Marianne designs beautiful works... and I was truly treated to see her upcoming works.
Here are my new stash pieces...
When visiting others... I try to always take something to gift them for their hospitality. I made this lil' box for her and also cut a few zinnias & sweet Annie from my gardens. Fresh flowers are always a treat! (I didn't get a picture of the flowers... sorry.)
***The pattern used for this stitch is a freebie offered by Appleseed Prim. Have you seen her freebies? Be sure to stop by her blog to take a look ~ you will be glad you did!***
I didn't get a picture of Marianne... but I did get a snap of her cute lil' kitty Dexter. He was excited to play with the tassels on my cuffs...CUTE!
Oh... and an update on the school girl sampler... no, I haven't forgotten about it or put it on the back burner. I am adding more to it... to the pattern that is. The frame should be in early next week. I'm thinking of releasing this one at market... which I believe is in August. I am also thinking of doing a couple more pinkeep patterns... with the inspiration & push Marianne gave me today.
Wishing you all warm smiles...
Betty
