~*Friday Finishes*~

Hello to you All! Another Friday has rolled around... and there are a couple finishes to share... so let me just get right to it!

This one comes from Sandy... she stitched up the ~*Love Me*~ freebie so sweetly!

She remarked that she didn't have to spend a dime to make this ditty. She had some old 14 count Aida in the attic that had some natural age & stains on it... stitched with DMC 814 Dark Garnet... and backed the lil' pillow with a fabric scrap from a quilting project. Her finished is just beautiful too!

That is one of the nice things about the small freebies I offer... they are small & can be whipped up in a short amount of time... using materials on~hand.

Sandy recently purchased my ~*Cookie Cutter Pony*~ rug. You can see that posted on her blog too... along with her MOST HANDSOME horse, Nitro.

Thank you, Sandy!

I have a finish of my own to share. It has been a great CRAFTY week for me! This lil' pillow tuck has actually been in the works for about 9 months! The pattern was offered to the members of AAPG... (search USAPRIM on Ebay) by Kelley, our group leader... as a challenge project... way back in May! I loved the pattern the minute I saw it, but for some reason... it took me forever to get around to punching it! Someday I would LOVE to hook a big rug using the design! Wonder how long that will take me?

I punched with cotton floss on weaver's cloth... backed the pillow with wool... filled it lightly with woolly snippets... and added a strand of yarn around the seam for that finishing touch.

Thank you, Kelley, for sharing this awesomely, splendid design with us!

Well... my mind is still whirling with creative ideas... and I have some quiet time to work... so I best be getting busy with more creating!

Oh... before I leave... thank you all for the kind comments regarding the tutorial! I love all the NAMES you have offered for the wearable, prim pins. Here is a list to recap what has been given...

Loopy Gems
PRIM Pins
Primitive pin puches, or PPP's
wee primages
Friend Keepers
Friend Keeps
Friend Seekers

How FUN! Thanks bunches!!

Wishing you all warm smiles...

Betty

  1. Betty,
Love the cat punch pillow. I wish I could punch. I have tried it but just can't get the hang of it. I suppose it just takes practice like anything else.
Thanks for the pictures, and the stories to go along with them. They are great finishes.

  3. Both finishes are beautiful! Wait until Kelley see's how wonderfully you punched up her pattern! It's gorgeous!!! I kinda really like the "wee primages" name suggestion... but maybe just keep it simple with "wee prims"? Have a great weekend!
