~*Friday Finishes*~

Hello Dear Friends!  Time is slipping by.  It has been a week since my last update.  I've thought of blog posts, but yet haven't made my way to the computer to type them in.  I guess now is better than not at all!

Awhile back I shared some gifts given to me by my dear friends Ginger & PatiJane.  They are cutting circles for penny rugs & putting them together in kits.  They will be offering these kits at their booth in Silver Dollar City this Summer.  Ginger gave me a grouping of circles & PatiJane gave me a penny rug kit.  Yesterday, I stitched up the rug kit...

The photograph itself is not all that flattering, but the rug is primitively, charming (if I do say so myself!).  Under one of the pennies... I added a REAL PENNY!  This is a tidbit of information I learned recently from Ginger.  She said this was done long ago ~ with the penny heads up, of course ~ to wish Good Luck.  How sweet!

These lovely woolly pillows are something I have been meaning to share with you for a long while now...
Recently my dear friend, Kelley, hosted a little woolly swap.  We were all to come up with a simple, hand stitched wool pillow to share with the group.  (Ginger added a penny to hers.)  She made the penny pillow on the bottom right.  The dogwood pillow was made by Sharon.  The bird is Kelley's.  The star is PatiJane's.  The bunny is mine.  The hand & heart is Cathy's.  Aren't they all super sweet?  I will treasure them always!  Having handmade treasures throughout the home is so heart warming!

On a stitching note... I just emailed a photograph of my next Prim Sister Club model to Jeanne at the Country Sampler!  It is the next kit and due out in May/June.

Have you heard about the Giveaway Ginger & PatiJane are offering?  Well.. hop on over there & check it out!  You will be happy you did!

Wishing you warm smiles...

Betty

  1. BEAUTIFUL woolies! I especially love that penny rug -- those colors go together perfectly!! Your bunny pillow is my favorite! :-D I just LOVE prim bunnies (so much nicer than crows, I think), and the shape of yours is great!

I heard about stitching a penny into penny rugs way back, and those pennies were huge! I looked into getting some on ebay for my penny rugs, but they are actually quite a collector's item now and TOO expensive for me! I just love their large size, though.....*sigh!* Maybe someday I'll find some cheap (err..... "inexpensive"! LOL)!! It's such a charming thing to do, and adds to the authentic feel that I love! :-)
