~*Happy Earth Day... gardening and weaving*~

Hello Dear Friends!

Happy Earth Day to you all!  I hope you have enjoyed the day and celebrated in one way or another.  For us... it was mowing, weeding, watering, seeding... and later, I will be recycling more denim to weave more rugs!  But... I have stopped to enjoy the greens... the sunshine... the smell of the Spring Time air... and all this beautiful Earth has to offer us around our own humble home...

Our pond is looking a rich, mossy green... but still so quaint, peaceful, and enduring...

We built the front part of our garden fencing the other day... none of the supplies needed to be purchased... all the posts, boards, and gate were in the barn.  The old farmer that lived here before must have saved it thinking he would put it somewhere ~ someday... so we did!  Do you see the broken board on the gate?  Yup... I think I will leave it just like that!  I love how old and primitive it is... just like it has been here for years and years!  The other three sides will be plain chicken wire to keep the bunnies out!

Potatoes and onions are growing great!
My rows make it look like I am a 'drunken~gardener'... not one is straight... but oh well... we will have plenty of veggies Summer!
My garden has more than vegetables... I have planted Zinnias, Cosmos, Marigolds, and (I may decide later this was a mistake), but I also planted some Morning Glory along the new fence.  I sure hope they don't take over!

These are the Marigold starts...

Oh... and I can't forget my Sunflowers!  *Smile*

I have finished and listed another woven, denim rug.  It is listed in my Etsy shoppe...

This one has some Vintage Curtain fabric mixed in to make random stripes.  Swing by to take a look if you have a chance.

Also, this one was listed last week for my update on Primitive Handmades Mercantile.  It is still available if you are interested.
(I will always combine shipping too.)

I have a BIG stack of denim to prep for weaving... I had better get busy!

Wishing you all warm smiles...

~*Time to Thread the Loom Again!*~

And before I do that... I have a punching project on my mind!

Hello Dear Friends!

Yes, I finished and listed yet another denim blue jean rug!  Are you getting sick of hearing that?  I sure hope not!

This one is now listed in my Etsy Shoppe!

It is time to start a new... but, like I said, there is a punching project on my mind.  I do so love weaving my rugs, but I do find myself sitting there dreaming of other projects... in other mediums.  So, before I measure the next 224 warp threads and re~thread my loom... I AM GOING TO DRAW UP MY DOODLE AND PUNCH!  But ya know... I'm also thinking of some cross stitch.  Oh goodness... so many things I want to do and so little time!  At least the laundry and housekeeping is semi~caught~up!

Wishing you warm smiles...

~*Spring~Time Color*~

Hello Dear Friends!

Oh... I do know some of my northern friends are still getting hit by cold and snow.  I'm so sorry for that.  Maybe this will bring you warm smiles...

Our fruit trees are older and the trees look it too... but the blooms are just beautiful.  The bees have been buzzing around them... and we hope to have many apples, peaches, and pears this year...

My latest rug must be inspired by the colorfulness of Spring... or the upcoming Summer fun...

This one is made from strips, both cut and ripped, of forgotten fabrics... quilt fabrics and other calicoes.  It is light weight, reversible, and oh so lovely!  I think it would look just beautiful on the picnic table with a vase full of blooms!

I untied it from the loom last night... and just listed it in my Etsy Shoppe.   Oh, I am just loving my loom and making these rugs!

And last night after one was removed... I started another denim one...

I just can't stop myself!

Wishing you all warm smiles...

~*Happy Easter*~

Hello Dear Friends!  I do hope you had a wonder Easter... full of love, laughs, festive joys, and happiness!

We had a glorious one ourselves... and have made many happy memories too.  We did so love spending time with our loved ones... and have missed so dearly the ones that we weren't able to spend time with, but they are near and dear in our hearts.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Now that the evening is calming down, I have decided to list some of my primitive, handmade wares in my Etsy shoppe.

Yup... some of my woven items are up for sale!  Listed are two of my denim coasters...

And one of my denim rugs...
I just love the look... the variation of light and dark... and the rugged, yet farmhouse chic charm to these rugs!  And I do so LOVE making them!
Since my buddy, Sherrie, challenged me to dust off my loom at the beginning of the year... I have made nearly 50 rugs!  Well... that is 'probably made' 50... I have lost count along the way.  I don't see myself stopping any time soon either!  It is very relaxing to sit at my loom.  Plus, I truly enjoy the whole recycle, upcycle, re~claim, re~purpose of it all!

I would love it if you could pop over to my Etsy Shoppe to take a look!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I've listed a few other prims in my shoppe too...

An old cheese box with a Punch (from my Oxford Punch) hit and miss lid...

And a hand~hooked hit and miss candle mat...

~*~*~*~*~*~

Like I said earlier in this post... I am still weaving...

Yes, I do love the denim... but my current rug is from 1" cotton strips...
The white at the base of the weaving is actually toilet paper.  I do this so the warp threads become evenly space/separated.  The actual rug starts where the threads are woven...
I still have a large tote of strips to use up.  These were cut long ago when I was doing more Locker Hooking...
And when I'm needing a weaving break... I keep busy with other mediums.  Sometimes it is punching or stitching... but right now it is weaving.  I'm using up my worms too...

Wishing you all warm smiles...
